I hope you’re having a happy Fitspo Friday! Did you enjoy watching coverage of the 2016 Olympics in Rio? The games inspired me in two ways:
- Seeing the beautiful scenery in the background made me want to travel to Rio ASAP, and…
- Watching the athletes made me want to train harder! It’s so motivating to see strong, healthy women doing their thing, and I couldn’t help but be inspired each time I watched an event.
For that reason, this week’s Fitspo Friday post is dedicated to the Olympic athletes who inspire me.

FITSPO: Short for Fitness-Based Inspiration. Images of active, strong, and fit women that promote proper exercise and diet.
I post this definition every week as a reminder that this is a place for positive + healthy inspiration. I try not to promote images that are unrealistic or that would require surgery to achieve. Fitness is all about consistently eating right, working out, and — most importantly — feeling and being healthy!
I don’t own the copyright to any of these images, and I’ve listed the image sources at the bottom of this post. These girls are all at the top of their game and are so beautiful and inspiring! You can click on each image to see it larger and to learn their names.
Don’t you just love how colorful everything is at the Olympics? Congratulations to ALL of the 2016 Olympic athletes who represented their countries so honorably and inspired a new generation of Olympic hopefuls. Photo sources at the end of the post!
We’re huge fans of Michelle Carter (she’s the one in blue holding the American flag) because not only is she an inspiring athlete, but she’s also a makeup artist and a body positivity coach. Her makeup site is called Shot Diva, her coaching site for girls is called You Throw Girl, and you can follow her on Instagram here: @shotdiva.

Here’s some B&W workout gear I’ve had my eye on lately!
Instead of posting a favorite workout this week, I’m going to post an infographic created by our friends at Supplement Mart in Australia. After all, if you’re going to train like a true athlete, you’ll need to learn how to best recover so you can replenish your energy levels and repair muscles damaged during your workout.
Here’s a great article about post-workout muscle recovery to accompany the infographic!
