I thought I'd start a new section on the blog all about fashion inspiration! I don't consider myself very stylish, but I do love checking out celebrities and dissecting their personal style choices to see what works for them and what doesn't–and to see which looks I can emulate.
My favorite person to follow for inspiration is Olivia Palermo! I think a lot of girls would agree with me, judging by how often her outfits are repinned on Pinterest and how many fashion articles are written about her.
If you aren't familiar with OP, here's her website: OliviaPalermo.com. I also recently wrote an article about her for DivineCaroline.com: The Ultimate Olivia Palermo Style Guide + Tips to Steal her Look.
Today I thought I'd share some pics of her out walking her adorable little puppy, Mr. Butler:
Raise your hand if you look that polished when you're walking your dog? 🙂 It's probably my Southern roots talking, but I believe in looking ladylike when you leave the house–no matter where you're headed. I love that Olivia always makes that effort.
Do you know what happens if you google “bad pictures of Olivia Palermo”? Go ahead…try it. This is what happens. It's as if there are no bad pictures of her in existence. I suppose that's one of the perks of always making an effort to look nice! (Even Beyonce has attempted to remove unattractive photos of herself from the internet, to no avail.)
Here are a few style tips I've picked up from checking out pictures of Olivia with Mr. Butler:
1. Always have a stylish pair of glasses on hand.
2. You can't go wrong by twisting your hair into a polished bun.
3. A stylish jacket is a timeless option.
4. Accessorize with a colorful scarf or hat.
Olivia is also known for always sporting fairly short nails with a classic red manicure. She has a limited edition red nail polish available at Nordstrom's here and she also collaborated with Chelsea28 for a clothing line that's currently only available at Nordstrom (here). This sweater might be my favorite from the collaboration:
Have a fantastic week!
