We're sharing a few of our favorite hairstyle looks again, so you know the messy bun will be included. This is a messy bun on Daisy a year or so ago–back when she dyed the tips pink with Kool-aid for the summer.
First, she texturized her hair using a dry shampoo (Batiste in the Tropical Scent
is her favorite). Next, she added a braid on each side–beginning at the bangs–and connected them in the back with a rubber band. Finally, she twisted the bottom layers of her hair and secured them in a random messy configuration using bobby pins.
Here's a topknot from Pinterest that we love:
How cute and casual is this? You don't even need a brush for this look! Just run your fingers through your hair and flip your head upside down. Gather hair and secure it on top of your head as if you're securing it into a ponytail, but leave the ends of the ponytail tucked into a rubber band. Add a drink umbrella for the perfect (kitschy) finishing touch. 🙂 If you don't want to go that wild with your accessories, try using fun bobby pins!
This style has a backward braid feeding into the bun piled atop her head, and we think it's a really fun way to jazz up a regular topknot.
Finally, who doesn't love a good sock bun? They're so easy and pretty. There's a shot at this link where Daisy styled her hair exactly like this girl.
To get a smooth finish like the one pictured above, you can use an oil specially made to add sheen to hair. Don't put too much, or your hair will look greasy! Just add a couple small drops (the size of a pencil eraser) and spread them evenly throughout your hair. You can always add more if you need it, but you don't want to overdo at first.
