I just watched the movie Soul Surfer for probably the 25th time (Why can't I live in Hawaii?!!) and wanted to do a makeup tutorial based on AnnaSophia Robb's makeup. Her makeup always looks really natural and she has such glowy, sun-kissed skin!
AnnaSophia Robb Makeup Tutorial
Sorry the lighting conditions are so different in her pic and mine! I didn't have a bunch of paparazzi flashing lights in my face like she did. 🙂
First, here I am without any makeup. I like to wear a headband to keep my hair out of my face when I'm applying makeup:
No makeup and lots of little freckles.
(FYI, I've posted a pic of all the makeup I used at the end of this post. Also, check out my blog post about eyeshadow placement terms if you want to learn the basics of applying eyeshadow.)
Step 1: Add a light coat of foundation, then apply e.l.f. Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Cream St. Lucia with a stippling brush.
Step 2: Add primer to the eyelids, then use your finger to add a base coat of “Chopper” eyeshadow to the lower half of the lids (4th color from the left on the Naked2 palette).
Step 3: Use a fluffy blending brush to add the color “Tease” (also from Naked2) in the crease, and then build the color by using windshield wiper motions.
Step 4: Add a darker color along lower lash line, and darken up the outer corners of the lid as well. I used the matte brown from the small NYX palette posted at the end of this post.
Step 5: Add a highlight color to your inner corner. I used “Booty Call” from Naked2.
Step 6: Then take a matte highlight color on another large blending brush, and apply to the brow bone. I used “Foxy” from Naked2.
Step 7: Also, never forget to fill in your brows! They really help give your look a nice polished finish. Here I'm using Anastasia Beverly Hills Eyebrow Pomade in the shade “Soft Brown”. I always set my brows using a clear gel.
Step 8: I decided I wanted to darken up the look a little, so I added some dark brown pencil into my waterline. This step is optional! I just prefer to do this because I find it brings out the green in my eyes.
Step 9: This step is also optional. In the photo Anna is not wearing eyeliner, but again I just prefer to wing out my liner to make my eyes look bigger and more defined.
Step 10: Add Bare Minerals Lash Domination Mascara in Intense Black.
Step 11: Add little bit of blush. I used my Milani blush in the shade “Tea Rose”. For the final touch, I added my current favorite peachy lip gloss, L'Oreal Lipstick in “Rose Melody”.
Here's the final makeup look! What do you think?
Here is the makeup I used to create this look:
Bare Minerals Lash Domination in Intense Black | Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion | Urban Decay Naked2 Eyeshadow Palette | NYX Cosmetics Love in Rio Eyeshadow Palette “No Tan Lines Allowed” | Loreal True Match LUMI in Light Ivory | e.l.f.
