Get to Know: DAISY

June 28, 2015 |

We have an “about” section here, but thought we'd go into a little more detail. My mom is going to interview me so you can get to know me better, so let's see what kind of weird questions she came up with…

All About Me (Daisy!):

What is your favorite thing about summer?

Not having to go to school.

Name 3 things you miss most from your childhood?

My grandparent's coast house, Cosmic Brownies, and not having responsibilities.

What's something you own that is of great value to you but of no value to anyone else?

My stuffed bunny that I've had since I was little.

What would you do if you won the lottery?

Open my own salon where I'd do hair and makeup. It would have pink everywhere and 1950's style hair dryers, kind of like these:

I even have a Pinterest board where I save images for the salon I'm going to open one day! I'd donate some of my lottery money to Locks of Love or some type of cancer charity.

What's your favorite way to spend a Saturday?

Maybe staying busy outside all day, then come home and be able to pig out and watch TV/Netflix.

What's your favorite movie?

This changes all the time, but my current obsession is Peter Pan.

If you were going on a trip and were only allowed to pack 3 kinds of makeup, what would you take?

Mascara, concealer, and bronzer.

Describe yourself in 3 words.

Goofy, childish, and girlie.

What's your best physical feature?

My eyes.

What's your favorite quote?

“If the whole world was blind, how many people would you impress?” ~Boonaa Mohammed

Even though I love doing hair and makeup so you'd think I'd be really into my looks, I think it's much more important to be nice. Being nice makes you a prettier person!!

Name the 3 places on your bucket list you want to visit first.

Hawaii, Fiji, and Greece.

If you were a crayon, what color would you be?

Flamingo Pink

Where are your favorite places to shop?

That changes all the time. I like Urban Outfitters a lot. ULTA is my favorite makeup store. If I have to order makeup online, then I sometimes pick Nordstrom over Ulta, because they have free shipping and I like to save money on shipping. But usually I just drive to Ulta. I think the sales girls see me in there a couple times a week.

What do you think you'll be doing in 10 years?

Hard to say because so much can change in a year that I have a hard time imagining what I'll be like in 10 years. Hopefully I'll be financially stable.

Finally, what's your favorite thing about your madre?

I like how comforting you are when I'm sick or having a bad day.

That's it for now!

XOXO, DAISY

Throwback pic! ⠀ How many of you own your own Throwback pic! ⠀
How many of you own your own home here in Savannah but rarely travel because you don't like boarding your pets? ⠀
⠀
The pet-loving community is HUGE worldwide, and there are lots people who A.) love animals and B.) want to see Savannah. ⠀
⠀
Guess what? They'll happily travel here to take care of your house and your pets while you go off on an adventure -- and they'll do it for FREE. You can skip the expensive boarding fees, and your pets will be happy because they can stay home and get spoiled. It's a win/win😊⠀

Got questions? I collaborated with @nomador_com and wrote an entire post about it. Link in bio under "latest posts". ⠀

What’s something unique you’ve discovered duri What’s something unique you’ve discovered during your travels? This was a fun find for me. It’s an old-timey “Wate and Fate”!! To use it, drop a quarter in the slot next to the month you were born and the scale will show your current weight, plus a fortune 🔮 I had fun with it and dropped a ton of quarters in just to read the various messages. My favorite one said “More church and fewer nightclubs would help you” 😂😆 (And this is why I love taking the backroads when I travel!)
Confectionery & Gameroom 🍭🎱That’s an inter Confectionery & Gameroom 🍭🎱That’s an interesting combo 🧐 I love wandering around in this part of the city — even though it’s not an area many tourists ever see. Seems like a good spot for a SCAD photo shoot (or an old 50 Cent video)

This tiny house is actually a museum — and one w This tiny house is actually a museum — and one well-worth visiting! The King-Tisdell Cottage is named after its former owners and is chock full of African-American history from the 1800s to present time. It’s located in the Historic District. (Sorry it’s not the best shot since I took it midday - but it’s one of my favorite tiny houses so I had to post it!) Oh, and that’s a horse hitch on the sidewalk beside the gate 😊
Savannah is jam-packed with houses, so that means Savannah is jam-packed with houses, so that means you’ll often find multiple homes on one lot. The larger homes face the streets and the carriage houses and tiny homes face the lanes, aka: back alleyways. Let me tell ya, there are some really cute homes down some of those lanes! 💙💙💙
I feel like dedicating all of my posts this week t I feel like dedicating all of my posts this week to the tiny homes of Savannah. (Cue the cuteness!!) Also, please note that this house has a welcome mat so guests can wipe their feet before entering the backyard. Naturally I’m VERY curious about that🤔🧐 Is this a common thing? Please discuss 😂
I have so many thoughts about this building. Too m I have so many thoughts about this building. Too many to list! For now I’ll just say it’s a shame that it sits empty when it has so much potential. (And someday when I’m all fired up I’ll probably go on a big rant about it 😂) It looks very much like Savannah’s own version of The White House, don’t you think?
