If you've poked around our blog, we figured you might want to know a little bit more about us. You can find our original “about” section here, but now Daisy's going to interview me so you can get to know me better. Here goes nothing!
All About Erin:
D: What are the top destinations on your travel wish list right now, since I know you want to travel?
Wow. That's a list that changes on a daily–sometimes hourly–basis. Zakynthos, Greece (AKA: Shipwreck Beach/Smuggler's Cove/Navagio Beach) is right up there at the moment. The water is the most amazing shade of turquoise, there is a rusted ship partially buried in the sand, and the beach is surrounded by cliffs famous for BASE jumping. There are also caves nearby to explore, and it looks like a fun place for hiking.

I like traveling to unique destinations where I'll never run out of nooks and crannies to explore. With that in mind, here are the top 5 destinations I can't seem to get out of my mind lately:
How's that for an eclectic mix? 🙂
D: Who do you admire most?
People who choose to be positive, no matter how difficult the circumstances. People who live with passion and enthusiasm for life. Anyone who follows their dreams!
D: What's one thing we need more of in the world?
Empathy.
D. Do you have a nickname?
Yes. Twinkles 🙂
D: What would you do if you won the lottery?
I'd surprise random hard working single moms (and dads!) with all-expenses-paid vacations so they could take a full week off of work and spend it with their kids. I'd feel like Santa Claus. 🙂
D: What's the most annoying question people ask you?
“Why don't you date?”
D: What are your beliefs?
I believe in God, I believe actions speak louder than words, and I believe in trusting my instincts.
I make a daily effort not to judge others. We're all humans here! If you wake up each day and try your best to be a good person, then chances are pretty high that I'm going to like you. 🙂
My favorite bible verse is: God does not see the same way people see. People look at the outside of a person, but the Lord looks at the HEART. 1 Samuel 16:7
Even though we run a makeup blog — so you'd think we'd be focused on appearances — that's not what our site is really about. Makeup is just a means to help girls feel more confident, but I always believe true beauty comes from within.
D: What's the best advice you've ever been given?
1. If you're not happy in a situation, change it. I've left jobs and relationships that caused me too much stress, and those were some of the best decisions I ever made. If I feel like a person or place is sending me into a downward spiral of negativity, I'm outta there! Life is too short to be unhappy. Also: Ignore drama, and don't feed the haters.
2. Protect the defenseless. Always look out for those who can't fend for themselves–especially children, animals, and the elderly.
D: What are you passionate about?
My family. Being a good mom. Traveling. Being healthy. Taking pictures.
D: How often do you workout?
I try to be active 4 or 5 days a week. I'm not obsessive about working out and dieting; I prefer to focus on making healthy lifestyle choices instead. My dad had his first heart attack when he was 50, and I'm hoping to avoid a similar fate.
I think girls should be more encouraging of one another, so that's why I like sharing health tips. Maybe another mom out there will make better choices because of something she reads on this blog, and then she'll live a longer/healthier life and be a better mom because of it?! You never know, right?! That would make me very happy if it happened. I was never the cheerleader type, but I guess you could say I'm the “encourager” type. 🙂
D: If you had to get a tattoo, what would you get, and where?
Well, I have tattoos (my eyeliner is tattooed on). But if I got a new one, I'd probably get something small on the side of one of one of my fingers or maybe on my inner wrist. It would likely have something to do with travel. Maybe I'd do the longitude/latitude of my parent's house to remind me that no matter where I am I can always go home to my family?
D: What's the best advice you have to give?
Be kind. There are enough mean people in this world. Also — always wear sunscreen!
D: What's your favorite movie?
Easy A. Emma Stone can do no wrong in my eyes. Forrest Gump also makes me very happy.
D: What's your favorite way to waste time?
Out on a lake, fishing.
D: Finally, what's your favorite thing about your wonderful daughter, Daisy? 🙂
I couldn't possibly choose one thing. You're kind-hearted. You make me laugh. You're always singing as you walk around the house. You leave sweet notes for me when I least expect them. You have cute freckles on your nose. You're very creative, sometimes weird, and you definitely aren't afraid to be yourself. (I mean, who else would go to school like this for Crazy Hair Day?)
I guess my favorite thing about you is that you're YOU!
OK, that wraps up my interview. If for some reason you didn't learn enough about me here, you can always learn more on my Pinterest boards. And now, it's my turn to interview Daisy! You can hop on over to her “about” page to learn more about what makes her tick.
