You've probably noticed bomber jackets on Pinterest and in all the stores this fall, right? That's because they're back with a vengeance. Since I'm into edgier styles these days, I paired my velvet romper with a black satin bomber jacket from Vision Street Wear. I really like the juxtaposition of textures, with the crushed velvet next to the shiny satin bomber. What do you think? I knew I wanted a short jacket, because it's not cold enough to wear anything long where I live.
Plus, I wanted the velvet to be able to show since it's the star of the outfit. Here are a few additional options since mine is sold out:
How cool is this wall? I love the light along the sidewalk. It's like having my own personal runway!
How to Wear a Bomber Jacket and Still Look Feminine:
One of the reasons this look works and doesn't look too grungy is because I kept my makeup really clean and soft. I did a basic cat eye with some mascara, then added blush and a touch of lip gloss. The curls in my hair help soften the look, too.
This look is all about the contrast of textures and the contrast of feminine vs. edgy.

And now for a complete 180, here's the same jacket but I'm wearing it with my hair in braids and I added a nose ring. How's that for different? I love the back of the jacket so much, so I wanted to include a picture to show it off.
What's your favorite way to wear a bomber? Do you like pairing it with something unexpected or do you prefer a classic look with jeans and a t-shirt?

Thanks Jessica! I love it! I’ve gotten so much use out of it — especially now during the holidays.

Oh Daisy…I really love this look. As you say, it balances the feminine with the edgy. The satin jacket is the perfect length, and the combination of textures and colors is awesome! The boots are also just right.
But I have a confession to make! When I saw your post about the romper itself, I didn’t’t really like it tgat much. I don’t know why because I love velvet and the color was gorgeous. But something just didn’t work for me. But with the jacket, the look is fabulous. It shows me what I already knew I guess: that one item doesn’t make an outfit. It’s the whole look that counts, including makeup and hair (even the braids♥).

Thanks, Jackie! I’m glad you like it! And I love your confession. 🙂 I actually didn’t intend to wear the romper by itself, but my mom took so many pics when I had the jacket off that I decided to break it into two posts and did one without the jacket. lol It was super hot when I took the pics and we walked to where we took them, so I didn’t want to put it on at first. That’s so funny that you picked up on it, tho! I wish you had a style column on here…you’d do great! You always have good tips.

I love bomber jackets, especially with dresses! The perfect amount of badass and pretty. I love how you paired it with the tights and boots as well, perfect combination.
