A rash guard isn't just for surfers; it also makes for a killer statement piece out on the beach AND does double-duty by providing added sun protection. But who am I kidding? They're really just super cute, so I wanted to write a post about them. I mean — have you seen some of the ones released this summer? They're one of my favorite types of swimwear for 2017!

Here are a few of my favorite rash guards I've spotted recently. Click on any of the photos to see them larger.
Free People Oceanside Full Wetsuit | Free People Ekukai Rash Guard | Free People Kalua One Piece | Free People Kiliki Cheeky One | Free People Margo Sleeveless Wetsuit | Free People Surf One Piece | Free People Marimba Zip Front
I love the first four options so much! I want them all and can't even decide which one I like best. It might be a good day to head to Free People to test them out!
Cynthia Rowley Floral Wetsuit | Cynthia Rowley Athletic Stripe | Cynthia Rowley Colorblock Wetsuit
All three of these are super cute! They remind me of the retro surf girl styles from old Elvis movies.
If you don't like the look of a full rash guard, Roxy makes some cute tops that you can pair with any bikini bottom.
Roxy Whole Hearted Rashguard | Roxy “Keep it Roxy” Rashguard | Roxy Long Sleeve Logo Rashguard | Roxy Palms Away Rashguard
What do you think? Are you a rashguard kind of person or not? I'm such a fan of anything retro that I think that's why I'm totally drawn to them. For my next style post I'm going to post some of my favorite high cut one pieces.
