I was going to call this my dorm room tour because I figured that's what more people would be searching for, but I don't live in a dorm so… room tour it is!
I get lots of questions on my videos about my lighting setup and where the background items are from, so hopefully I answered them all here.

Room Tour Video
Most of the items in my room are from Target, HomeGoods, Urban Outfitters, and World Market. HomeGoods is where I purchased most of the bigger items, like the ottoman, bedspread, gray chair, and gray rug. I don't see the bedspread listed on their site anymore, but it's from Kate Spade.

I mentioned how much I love my IKEA desk in my video. I think it's the perfect desk for YouTubers! It's easy to clean and it looks nice and minimal.
I like that there's a hole in the back and a place to hide cords. Here's the link to my exact desk. This is the rolling cart that goes alongside it that I LOVE. It holds so much stuff!
Pillows
If there's one thing I always have in my room, it's pillows! I love to sleep with pillows surrounding me, so I always have lots of them on my bed and usually have extras tossed on my chair in the corner.
Faux Plants
Like I mention in the video, I love having pops of green in my room…even if it's fake. It makes everything look better and green cheers me up! Urban Outfitters and Target both have pretty realistic looking faux plants. (I can't keep anything alive!)
Artwork
I've had so many requests for the cactus print. I masked it off with tape and used spray paint to make the sky look more pink to match my room. (It had lots of peach tones before I did that.)
Quote Art
My favorite places for quote art pieces are Etsy and Urban Outfitters. The “Do What You Love” print is from Girl Friday Paper Arts (she also has a “Kindness is Magic” one that I love).
Etsy has lots of great prints and is my go-to place for quote art. HEARTSinCOLORS shop is one I really like.
Lighting Ideas
All the lamps in my room are from Target, but I bought them about a year ago so they might not still be in stock. I opted for copper or aged brass for almost all of my lighting.
Edison Bulbs
I love the warm glow they add to my room! Edison bulbs are the best! If you use bright white lighting for YouTube, I highly recommend adding at least one of these to warm up your skin tone.
Pink Rugs
I'm considering adding a pink rug, so I thought I'd add a few of the ones I've been eying. A fluffy white faux sheepskin rug is my other option.
Gray Rugs
I use the flat gray rug under my makeup desk to keep my chair from scratching the floor. I snagged mine at HomeGoods for less than $30, so it was a good purchase!
Accessories
I don't use too many accessories, mainly because I don't like cluttering up my room. It's already busy enough with all of my makeup stuff.
Wall Mirrors
I bought my giant frameless wall mirror at Habitat for Humanity's ReStore shop in Savannah. They repurpose items at really good prices. That mirror used to be in a business, but now it's in my room! You wouldn't believe how heavy it is! I snagged it for $50. The makeup mirror above my desk is from Target.
Shelving
I bought simple floating shelves at Target in a natural finish, then my mom stained the wood so it matched my dresser. I like that they're fairly deep and have room to hold my candles and accessories. We couldn't find a long shelf that didn't cost hundreds of dollars, so my mom made the white shelf herself.
YouTube Set-Up
Before I go, I wanted to list the things I used for my YouTube videos. I'm working on a whole post about my lighting set up and the equipment I use, so I'll link to it here once it's posted. In the meantime…
- Ring Light
- Soft Boxes
- Desktop Tripod (it was holding my camera in the video)
You can see all of my camera equipment in my Amazon Shop.
I hope the room tour video was fun. I'll probably shoot another one sometime soon because I bought a gimbal to help hold my camera steady. I know you guys will be happy when my videos aren't so shaky!
